Abstract

This study examines the positive relationship between employees perceived fit and team commitment on the basis of similarity-attraction and social identity theory. Using data collected from a Korean manufacturing firm, this study examined three types of fit: person-organization (PO) fit, person-supervisor (PS) fit, and person-group (PG) fit. In this process, we found that a three-way interaction between PO fit, PS fit and PG fit predicts an employee's team commitment. The results highlight the role of PG fit in raising team commitment where there are proper configurations of PO fit and PS fit. Implications and future research directions are discussed.
