Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of personalized nursing on functional improvement and compliance for patients with ankylosing spondylitis (AS) and treated by biologicals. Methods From May 2013 to August 2015, 94 patients with AS in blood rheumatology of our hospital who reveived treatment of Etanercept biologicals were selected and assigned to the control group and the intervention group randomly, with 47 cases in each group. Disease and functional status, range of motion, and compliance during follow-up of all patients before treatment and at discharge were observed. Results The scores of bath ankylosing spondylitis disease activity index (BASDAI), bath ankylosing spondylitis functional index (BASFI) night and overall pain VAS score of patients in two groups during hospitalization, were all improved, , and before discharge, the BASFI score of the intervention group was significantly lower than that of the control group (P<0.05); the functional improvement of the intervention group was more obvious than that of the control group; and there was no significant difference between two group in BASDAI score, night and overall pain VAS score (P<0.05). Spinal mobility, cervical rotation degree, chest expansion degree and ankle spacing in two groups during hospitalization were improved significantly (P<0.05). The compliance of the control group and intervention group were (91.35±3.29)% and (73.25±7.23)% (P<0.05). Conclusions Personalized nursing can improve the effect of biologicals in functional improvement for patients with AK and the treatment compliance.
