Abstract

The aim of this paper is twofold: illustrate the use of Generalized Kanban control for a supply chain, and find factors that influence the performance of a supply line with Generalized Kanban control. For this purpose, a supply chain, which is commonly found in industry, is modeled as a queueing network, using Generalized Kanban control, and analyzed in order to find its performance. For this performance evaluation, we use an analytical method whose interest is its rapidity. The experiments showed that the number of Kanbans is the most important parameter for the inventory level. Beside this, the type of transportation server showed big effects, especially on the customer service.
