Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper presents the results of a study that predicted employee tenure in their current organization affects their perception of workplace deception. We tested for the effects of employee length of time in their organization on perceived workplace deception. We hypothesized that employees will modify their reactions to workplace deception based on their time spent in the organization. The results of our study indicated that although short and long term employees perceived deception as a common practice in the work place; the strength of this perception is stronger as employee’s length of service increases. Further, employees with longer length of service indicated they perceive management as more deceptive than coworkers who worked in the organization for a shorter period of time. Keywords management, actions, employee perceptions, applied management.
