Abstract

In this study, disordered (Co,Fe){sub 3}V was prepared and tensile tested in air and vacuum at room temperature. The results were compared with those obtained previously for ordered alloy having the identical composition. The results demonstrate that ordering has critical effects on the environmental embrittlement. Whereas the alloy exhibited a typical environment embrittlement in the L{sub 2}-ordered state, the alloy exhibited no sign of environmental embrittlement in the disordered state.
