Abstract

Follicutar development continues during contraceptive therapy but growth of the follicles failed to progress. Ovarian histology from wedge excision of the ovaries was studied in 43 users of the oral contraceptive pill — 31 during medication and 12 after medication. The result indicate that a prompt return of ovarian function and normalisation of ovarian histology occurs even after long-term use of the combined oral contraceptives.
