Abstract

Objective To investigate the adverse reactions during the fundus fluorescein angiography(FFA) or indocyanine green angiography(ICGA) and the effects of nursing intervention on the minimizing the prevalence of adverse reactions. Methods From January 2012 to June 2015, a total of 532 patients underwent the FFA or ICGA in our hospital, in which 322 cases were randomly located in nursing intervention group and 210 cases in control group. The prevalence of adverse reactions of all patients and the effects of nursing intervention were analyzed. Results Among the 532 cases of patients, there were 49 cases with adverse reactions mainly slight nausea or skin rush with 9.2%. The prevalence of adverse reactions was 11.8% in the males and 6.2% in the females (χ2=4.94, P 0.05). The prevalence of adverse reactions was 9.7% in the FFA group, 9.9% in FFA combined with ICGA group and 4.9% in ICGA group respectively (χ2=1.52, P>0.05). The prevalence of adverse reactions was 7.1% in the nursing intervention group and 12.4% in the control group, the difference was significant (χ2=4.17, P<0.05). Conclusions The intensive nursing intervention with careful interpretation before the examinations and closely observations during the FFA or ICGA examinations can minimize the occurrence of adverse reactions and improve the safety.
