Abstract

In unanesthetized rabbits, morphine, 4 mg/kg, i.v., enhanced the caudate inhibitory effect on the somatosensory evoked potential recorded from the centrum medianum of the thalamus following sciatic stimulation; in α-chloralose-anesthetized rabbits, morphine reduced this effect. I.v. administrations of methotrimeprazine, 4 mg/kg, (levomepromazine) depressed this inhibition in unanesthetized rabbits.
