Pretty much everyone agrees that olive oil, especially extra virgin, is good for health. Are many health benefits of olive oil that are supported by scientific research. Olive oil is rich in monousatured oleic acid, which is believed to have many beneficial effects. Apart from its beneficial fatty acids, it contains minor components such as phytosterols, carotenoids, tocopherols and hydrophilic phenols. These compounds offer antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial proprietors for the oil, which may be the main reasons for its health benefits
