Abstract

The effect of millimeter-band electromagnetic radiation of low intensity on the regeneration of the sciatic nerve was studied in experiments conducted on rats. The restoration of the functional properties of the nerve following its section and microsurgical suturing was investigated. It was established that irradiation of the site of operation stimulates the growth of nerve fibers and increases the conduction velocity of action potentials along the regenerating nerve.
