Abstract
Objective To analyze the effects of microplates internal fixation and Kirschner wire internal fixation on metacarpal and phalangeal fractures. Methods Eighty patients with metacarpal and phalangeal fractures treated by microplates internal fixation and Kirschner wire internal fixation in Hejin People’s Hospital from January 2016 to January 2018 were selected as research objects and divided into two groups by random number table method. Forty patients in control group were treated by Kirschner wire internal fixation, while 40 patients in observation group were treated by microplates internal fixation. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results The excellent rate of total active flexion scale (TAFS) of observation group (95.0%) was higher than that of control group (80.0%), and observation group had higher excellent radiology rate (97.5%) and satisfactory appearance rate (95.0%) than control group (82.5%, 77.5%), P<0.05. The healing time in observation group was (6.29±0.22)d, which was higher than (7.81±0.33)d of control group (P<0.05). However, the operation time and hospital stay of observation group were (94.26±4.93)min and (7.55±0.42)min, respectively, which were significantly longer the (56.92±3.33)min and (5.56±0.50)d of control group (P<0.05). Conclusions Microplates internal fixation in the treatment of patients with metacarpal and phalangeal fractures can improve the fixation effect and hand function with better appearance satisfaction. And it has better application effect than Kirschner wire internal fixation. Key words: Metacarpal and phalanx fracture; Kirschner wire; Microplates
