Abstract

The Li2MgTi3O8 ceramics were synthesized by the traditional solid-state process. The effects of MgO–LiF additives on the sintering temperature, microwave properties and phase compositions were investigated. The results showed that the MgO–LiF additives can reduce the sintering temperature and improve the microwave dielectric properties. The main phase Li2MgTi3O8 and the second phase MgTiO3, Li2TiO3 phases could be detected from the X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns in the whole region of MgO–LiF additives. Typically, excellent microwave dielectric properties: εr=25.69, Q×f=57,100GHz, τf=−4.3ppm/°C were obtained for Li2MgTi3O8 ceramics sintered at 825°C doped with 3wt% MgO–3wt% LiF additives.
