Abstract

The effects of compositional modification by substituting Mg or Fe for Zn on the perovskite formation, crystallographic aspects, and dielectric properties of Pb(Zn 1/2W 1/2)O 3 were investigated. Microstructural evolutions in the sintered ceramics were also examined. Stabilization of the perovskite structure was accomplished by a much smaller concentration of Mg substitution. Lattice parameters of the perovskite decreased with increasing substituent fractions in general. By contrast, the permittivity values increased significantly with increasing Mg/Fe substitution.
