Abstract

Peritendinitis of the glenohumeral joint is among the most common shoulder problems, which affect people practicing sports, also observed in repetitive activities related to work or daily life. In addition, peritendinitis of the rotator cuff muscles increases with age, affecting more than 80% of people over the age of eighty. The supraspinatus tendon is most commonly affected. Very often the pain caused by peritendinitis of the glenohumeral joint is so strong that it does not allow movements in the joint, which leads to complications of hypokinesia. Wrong therapeutic approach can lead to serious damage to the structures located in the subacromial space, which together with the deltoid muscle are responsible for the movements of the upper limb in the shoulder joint. If peritendinitis of the glenohumeral joint is not treated properly, it can cause irreversible damage. Therefore, the aim of this literature review is to provide an overview and analysis of the previously studied conservative treatment methods using local microwave diathermy and interference current in patients with peritonenditis of the glenohumeral joint.
