Becker, R. S. ; Bolland, T. K. ; Shieh, S. Y. Abstract We have calculated the effects of libration on the light curve of a close binary system, using a simple model. The model indicates that the libration can produce significant effects, of the order of 10% of the modulation in magnitude due to corotation. This has implications for systems of current interest such as X-ray binaries.
