Abstract
The study was carried out to find out the effect of LAP on secondary school students’ achievement in technical drawing. Two research questions guided the study and two Null hypotheses were tested at .05 level of significance. A Quasi-experimental pre-test post-test design was adopted for the study. A sample of 294 SSII secondary school technical drawing students drawn by simple random sampling techniques from four single sex secondary schools in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State was used for the study. The students were assigned to experimental and control groups respectively using simple random sampling. Two parallel instruments (Pre-TDAT and Post-TDAT) were developed and validated. A reliability coefficient of .88 and .89 was obtained using Kuder Richardson formular 20. Data collected were analysed using mean and standard derivation to answer the research questions, while analysis of co-variance (ANCOVA) was used to test the null hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The results of the study revealed that there was a significant difference between the mean achievement scores of the LAP group and control group. A significant different was found to exist between the mean achievement scores of male and female secondary school technical drawing students taught using LAP. Based on the findings, the study recommended that LAP should be used in teaching technical drawing in secondary schools in Bichi Local Government Area of Kano State. Article visualizations:
