Abstract
1. 1. 5× 10 −5 M Pb 2+ reduces the in vitro release of rapidly labelled Ribonucleoprotein and of Ribonuclease from rat liver nuclei. 2. 2. The former effect is abolished by Triton X-100, while the latter is not. 3. 3. Triton X-100 activates latent intranuclear Ribonuclease (RNase), while RNase activity released into the incubation medium is not affected.
