Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of jump training on gait pattern and balance ability in hemiplegic stroke patients. For the purpose, the subjects of this study were classified into two groups, the one group was 9 jump training group, the another group was 8 elastic band exercise group. The exercise program were 3 times a week for 8 weeks. The results were as follows. At first, the jump training and elastic band exercise group improved walking speed after the exercise program, the jump training group revealed higher in walking speed and cadence than the elastic band exercise group after the exercise program in gait pattern. At second, the jump training and elastic band group improved Berg Balance Scale (BBS) and Time Up & Go Test (TUG) after the exercise program, the jump training group revealed higher in BBS and TUG than the elastic band exercise group after the exercise program in balance ability. In conclusion, jump training revealed gait pattern and balance ability than elastic band exercise.
