Abstract

Several studies evaluated benefits of intraumbilical vein (IUV) injection of oxytocin as treatment for retained placenta to reduce the rate of manual removal of placenta and postpartum hemorrhage. The aim of this study was to determine whether IUV injection of oxytocin after cord clamp shortens duration of third stage of labor in uncomplicated pregnancies.
