Abstract
X-ray fluorescent analysis for thirty-seven elements (Mg, Al, Si, P, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Ga, Ge, As, Y, Zr, Nb, Mo, Ag, Cd, In, Sn, Sb, La, Ce, Hf, Ta, W, Hg, Pb and Bi) in iron, steel, iron ore, refractory bricks, slag, glass, coating materials on steel, aluminum and aluminum alloys was studied, and the influence of co-existing elements on the result of analysis of the above elements was summarized in two tables for the convenience of routine laboratory works; a table of elements whose fluorescent lines lie within +1°Cin angle from the fluorescent X-ray lines to be analized and a table of absorption edges of the interfering elements arranged in order of the wavelengths were prepared. With these two tables the effects of interfering elements and X-ray absorption were confirmed satisfactorily. It was found that, generally, the influence of neighboring lines is considerable when the concentration of the elements to be analized is low, and the effect of absorption due to nearly lines is considerable in the opposite case is high.
