Abstract

This study was carried out with the aim of compensating the stress factors caused by the increase in metabolic temperature, especially in the last period of the embryo, with the application of vitamin C and providing additional energy to the embryo before hatching with glucose application and determining its effects on hatching power, chick weight and chick length. The study was carried out in the hatchery of Gedik Piliç A. Ş located in Eşme district of Uşak province. In the study, 600 fertile broiler chicken eggs obtained from Cobb 500 broilers were used. Six experimental groups were formed with 100 fertile eggs in each group. On day 18 of incubation, two groups were injected with 0.1 ml of 10 mg and 15 mg of glukoz dissolved in deionized water, two groups were injected with 0.1 ml of 3 mg and 6 mg of vitamin C dissolved in deionized water, and two groups were used as sham control (injected with 0.1 ml of deionized water) and uninjected control. The results of this study showed that 10 mg glucose injection and 6 mg vitamin C injection had higher hatching characteristics of broiler chickens without adversely affecting chick weight and chick length parameters, except for glucose (15 mg) experimental group.
