Abstract

The required control levels of various impurities such as Co, Nb, Ag, Mo, Al, Na, Ni, Cu, Fe, Si, etc. in vanadium alloy (V–4Cr–4Ti) are given considering the hands-on and remote recycling dose rate limits based on the irradiation neutron spectrum of fusion reactor first wall. The activation level of the vanadium alloy (NIFS-HEAT-2 ingot) currently made by National Institute for Fusion Science (NIFS, Japan) is calculated and compared with the activation levels of previous NIFS-made vanadium alloy (NIFS-HEAT-1) and the USA-made vanadium alloy (US832665).
