Abstract

Since 1981, Community Streets have been constructed in Japan, and have reported a variety of positive results. However, construction of community streets has been carried out based on public agreement in Japan. The most difficult problem is that residents do not agree when some forts are constructed on Community Streets. Therefore, image forts have been using as a last resort. The purpose of this study is to clarify a relationship between image forts and automobile driving behavior on Community Streets. We carried out field surveys and questionnaire for residents in order to grasp automobile driving behavior and residents' attitude for Community Streets.
