Abstract
What are the effects of general education in a training program designed to equip unskilled persons with saleable technical skills? How will the final products differ from products of programs which did not offer basic education? The 1963 Amendments to the Manpower Development and Training Act arranged for general education in its programs, and the new anti-poverty plans provide for general education experiences in their job training centers. What gains can be expected?
