Abstract

This study was designed to observe the effects of functional electrical stimulation on the promotion of motor function and functional mobility in individuals with hemiparesis who have regained walking ability, yet demonstrate ankle and knee dysfunction. We hypothesised that single channel FES would augment the motor function and functional mobility beyond the benefits of conservative management.
