Abstract

In the present research we investigate the effects of free stream turbulence (FST) on transitional flow in a square duct. The computed flows at sub-critical Reynolds number (Re = 800) is studied for effects of FST. A FST model is developed based on existing wind tunnel data by matching the statistics of the synthesized FST data up to fourth order statistics of wind tunnel data. Finally, receptivity of the flow in the square duct is reported for this Re flow in the square duct.
