Abstract

Elastic scattering of 6Li at E lab = 124 and 169 MeV and inelastic scattering to the lowest three excited states (2 1 +, 0 2 + and 3 1 −) in 12C has been analyzed with the method of coupled discretized continuum channels. Effects of breakup processes both of the projectile and target nuclei have been investigated. It is found that teh 6Li-breakup effet is important for elastic scattering and inelastic scattering to the “shell-model-like” excited states (2 1 + and 3 1 −) in 12C. On the other hand, for inelastic scatter ing to the 0 2 + state, which is a well-developed 3α-clustering state, the coupling with the 12C→3α breakup process is more important than that with the 6Li → α + d breakup process. The roles of the mutual-excitation channels are also discussed.
