Abstract

This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation on the 7-day and 14-day compressive strength of the fly ash & Malan loess based geopolymer paste. The sodium hydroxide solution and sodium silicate solution are used as the alkali solutions. The mass proportion of fly ash varies from 0% to 100%. A total of 66 specimens were cast. The 7-day and 14-day compressive strength vs the mass proportion of fly ash were discussed. According to the development changes of the compressive strength and density, the feasibility of loess in replacing fly ash was discussed, the geopolymer paste curing measures and the optimum mass proportion of fly ash were recommended.
