Abstract

Feeding added protein to large frame steers increased average daily gain (ADG) and intake but had no effect on dry matter:gain, carcass weight and carcass quality. Including 2% added fat had no effect on ADG and carcass traits. However, feeding 4% added fat increased ADG to 56 d, although ADG overall and carcass quality were not influenced.
