ConclusionNeither epinephrine nor amphetamine in the doses used affected the alveolar CO2 tension of subjects when standing or lying. Consequently the lowered alveolar C02 of the erect posture may be due to a relative cerebral ischemia.This work was made possible by a grant from the Council on Pharmacy and Chemistry of the American Medical Association.
