Abstract

Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a common and complex inflammatory skin disease. It has a genetic component but is also strongly influenced by the environment. Clinicians caring for patients with AD are aware of the effects of climate on the onset of flares, for example. Epidemiological studies have linked high domestic water hardness and chlorine content with AD prevalence in children.
