Abstract

The current study purports to establish the linkage between various retention practices and perceived firm performance and innovation performance. Using multiple regression analysis on a sample of 563 respondents from 204 organisations operating in India, the study has highlighted that employee retention practices in the form of 'development and empowerment' and 'supportive organisational culture' are positively related to perceived firm performance. Findings have also highlighted the positive relationship between 'development and empowerment' and innovation performance. However, no such relationship has been found between supportive organisational culture and innovation performance. Implications for HR practitioners and further researches are discussed.
