Abstract

Effects of electropulsing treatment on stress-induced ɛ martensite transformation of a pre-deformed Fe17Mn5Si8Cr5Ni0.5NbC alloy were studied. The results showed that electropulsing treatment can strengthen austenite and decrease the critical stress for the stress-induced martensite transformation at room temperature due to the precipitation of more and smaller NbC particles. Therefore, more strain can be afforded by the stress-induced martensite transformation.
