Abstract

The effects of various compounds on the transport of uric acid by rabbit kidney have been investigated in several previous studies. Experiments utilizing clearance techniques have established that uric acid clearance is reduced by probenecid, salicylate, PAH, chlorothiazide and a number of other compounds (1,2). Stop-flow analysis has indicated that probenecid reduces uric acid clearance by blocking its secretion in the proximal tubule (3).KeywordsUric AcidSalicylic AcidSodium SalicylateUric Acid ConcentrationEthacrynic AcidThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors. This process is experimental and the keywords may be updated as the learning algorithm improves.
