Abstract

Kinetic studies on the formations of PbTiO3 and PbZrO3 were made using the mixtures of PbOTiO2 and PbOZrO2 with different dispersion states of the constituents. Although the rates of both formations were accelerated with an increase in the dispersion states, the activation energy for the formation of PbTiO3 was found not to depend upon the dispersion states of the constituents. On the contrary, activation energy for the formation of PbZrO3 was much lowered with an increase in the dispersion states of PbO and ZrO2 in the mixture.
