Abstract

Three reinforcement contingecies for the generation and maintenance of a complex cooperative act involving three-member groups have been evaluated experimentally. It was found that individual reinforcement is both necessary and sufficient for establishing such a response. Group reinforcement alone was not effective. The highest response rate, however, was produced by a combination of individual and group reinforcement.
