Summary

Introduction

Aging is an intrinsic process of the human being linked to functional deteriorations in several systems, affecting the quality of life due to the inability to perform the simple tasks of the day to day in an autonomous, efficient and safe way [1]. Women are more affected by senescence due to hormonal changes associated with menopause that intensify muscle weakness and increases the risk of mortality [2]. In this context, physical exercise, especially strength training, appears as a countermeasure to attenuate these negative modifications, being a non-pharmacological strategy considered efficient in promoting adaptations in the physical fitness and health of those who perform [3].
