Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of different doses of simvastatin on cerebrovascular reserve of patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease. Methods From March 2011 to August 2013, 96 patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease were randomly divided into two groups, with 48 cases in each group. The control group was given 20 mg/d of simvastatin for treatment, and the observation group was given simvastatin 40 mg each time for treatment. The effective rate of treatment, indexes of CVR and BHI of pretherapy and post-treatment, level of inflammatory factor, level of lipid, adverse effects rate, recurrence rate and case fatality rate of the two groups were compared. Results There was no significance difference in the total effective rate between the two groups(P>0.05). The levels of CVR and BHI after treatment were higher than those before treatment, the levels of the CVR and BHI after treatment in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, there were significant differences(P<0.05). The levels of CRP, TNF-α and MMP-9 after treatment were lower than those before treatment, the levels of CRP, TNF-α and MMP-9 after treatment in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, there were significant differences (P<0.05). The levels of TC, TG and LDL-C after treatment were lower than those before treatment; the level of HDL-C was higher than that before treatment; the levels of TC, TG and LDL-C after treatment in the observation group were lower than those in the control group; the level of HDL-C was higher than that in the control group; there were significant differences(P<0.05). The incidences of adverse effects in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the recurrence rate and case fatality rate in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, there were significant differences (P<0.05). Conclusions Simvastatin has significant effect on cerebrovascular reserve of the patients with ischemic cerebrovascular disease, the large dose of simvastatin can improve the cerebralvascular reserve, improve the breath-holding index, reduce the level of inflammatory factor and level of lipid, and reduce the recurrence rate and case fatality rate. But closely observation are required for the adverse reaction of the patients in the clinics, and then to actively control. Key words: Simvastatin; Ischemic cerebrovascular disease; Cerebralvascular reserve; Treatment effect
