Abstract

Objective To observe the effects of peritoneal dialysis(PD) and hemodialysis(HD) on calcium and phosphorus metabolism and inflammatory factors in patients with end-stage renal disease(ESRD). Methods From January 2016 to February 2019, 126 patients with ESRD who received blood purification treatment in the department of nephrology of our hospital were selected as experimental subjects. All patients were divided into two groups by stratified random grouping method. PD group(n=63) received APD and HD group(n=63) received hemodialysis. Before and after treatment in both groups after 6 months of calcium phosphorus metabolism(blood calcium levels, blood phosphorus levels), inflammatory factor levels[C-reactive protein(CRP), tumor necrosis factor alpha(TNF alpha), interleukin 6(IL-6)] and renal [glomerular filtration rate(GFR), blood urea nitrogen (BUN), serum creatinine (SCr)] differences were observed. compared Complications of patients during treatment were compared between two groups. Results There was no significant difference in serum calcium and phosphorus levels between PD group and HD group after treatment(P>0.05). The CRP level in the HD group was higher than that in the PD group(P 0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in levels of CFR, BUN and SCr between the two groups(P>0.05). The incidence of infection, hypoproteinemia and congestive heart failure in the PD group was higher than that in the HD group(P 0.05). Conclusions Both PD and HD can effectively improve the calcium and phosphorus metabolism and renal function of patients with ESRD, but both PD and HD have mild inflammatory reaction after treatment, and the inflammatory reaction of HD is higher than that of PD.It is suggested to select the best blood purification method according to the clinical situation.
