Abstract
The aim of the present study is to compare the effect of three different kinds of cling film, including low density polyethylene (LDPE) film, high density polyethylene (HDPE) film and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) film, on Pleurotus ostreatus fresh-keeping under the condition of simulated cold fresh supermarket shelf temperature and humidity (temperature around 14 ± 1 °C, storage environment relative humidity around 85 %). The results show that cling film treatment can keep better effect compared with the blank experiment. Compared with the LDPE film, HDPE film and PVC film can reduce the postharvest P. ostreatus weight loss, maintaining the high CO2 volume fraction and low O2 volume fraction in packing; During the first 4 days of storage, P. ostreatus packaged by HDPE film and PVC film have no significant difference with P. ostreatus packaged by LDPE film (P > 0.05). But after 4 days storage, P. ostreatus packaged by HDPE film and PVC film the sensory score significantly lower than P. ostreatus packaged by LDPE film and the respiration intensity, ethylene production and cell membrane permeability was also significantly higher than P. ostreatus packaged by LDPE film (P < 0.05). Under the condition of P. ostreatus packaged by LDPE, the fresh-keeping effect was the best.
