Objective: The sinoatrial node (SAN) automaticity is essential for cardiac rhythm. However, the mechanism underlying the regulation of SAN pacemaker activity remains controversial. We investigated the effect of cyclopiazonic acid (CPA), a specific sarcoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ pump inhibitor, on pacemaker currents (If) in neonatal rat SAN cells.
