Abstract

By studying the residual cure stresses for various temperature-cycles and time-cycles of epoxy resins, we find mat the stresses depend on the competitive process between the subsequent curing and annealing. The residual stresses increase with extent of cure, but decrease with increasing stress relaxation. Changing the curing history alters the residual stresses.
