Abstract

This article attempts to establish the fact of interaction between the fractions and the demulsifier, without any regard for their quantitative ratio or the composition of the solvent and the mutual influence of the fractions. It examines in detail the characteristics of the crude oil fractions and their influence on the demulsifying capability of the test compounds. The fractions that do not affect the demulsifying power or slightly increase the demulsifying power are represented by the paraffinic/naphthenic hydrocarbons with low surface activity and small contents of polar groups. Also in this group are the resins.
