Abstract

Objective To explore the effects of continuous nursing based on habit forming education care on insulin treatment compliance in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods From May 2014 to April 2015, 80 cases of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes treated with insulin were randomly divided into observation group and control group. The patients of control group were given routine health education and outpatient review. The patients of observation group were given health education and habit forming education before discharge. After discharge, the patients of observation group were given continuous follow-up, health education and network service. The treatment effects and insulin treatment compliance were compared between two groups 6 months after discharge. Results In the observation group, insulin injection compliance was significantly higher than that of the control group (P 0.05). Conclusions The continuous nursing based on habit forming education can improve the correct rate of insulin self-injection and treatment compliance, improve the clinical symptoms and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions in patients with self-injection of insulin.
