Abstract

Structural and magnetic properties of the Y(Fe1-xCox)11Ti compounds have been investigated. Substitution of Co for Fe does not change the crystal structure, but leads to a decrease of unit-cell volume. The Cure temperatures Tc increase clearly with increasing Co content. Composition dependence of the Curie temperature has been studied in terms of the mean field theory. X-ray diffraction spectra measurement has been used to determine the easy magnetization direction(EMD) at room temperature. The magnetocrystallline anisotropy fields have been obtained by use of singular point detection(SPD) technique. The effects of substitution of Co for Fe on magnetic moments have been analysed.
