Abstract

In this paper inductive wireless power transfer (IWPT) system with class E power amplifier (PA) with capacitive tuning was evaluated. In this system values of the capacitors are tuned dynamically to compensate the effect of the coils misalignments. As a result, the stable output power of IWPT system can be maintained. The output power value depends on several factors, e.g. coupling coefficient, type of reactive power compensation used in the receiver, load resistance. In this work the effect of these parameters was considered on the range of output powers, which can be maintained for the given parameters of the system, for the range of the coils axial displacements from 5 to 20 mm. It was found that the range of stable output power was larger for the IWPT system with series compensation in the receiver than for the system with parallel compensation in the given range of the coils displacements.
