Abstract

Objective To discuss the effects of teaching model on reform of international nursing personnel training. Methods In Jining Medical University, a total of 127 undergraduate foreign nursing students in grade 2008 were selected to be developed in traditional foreign nursing personnel training program. A total of 46 students in grade 2009 were selected to be developed in China-America cooperation education model. Methods for evaluating the effect of teaching mode reform included the passing rate of CET 6, average scores of nursing courses, scores of NCLEX-RN simulation exam, grade evaluation of American experts and interviews. Results The passing rate of CET 6 was 84.78% in grade 2009 and 66.93% in grade 2008 with a significant difference (χ2=5.30, P 0.05). Besides, the result of grade evaluation of American experts showed that the nursing English ability of students to listen and speak in grade 2009 in 8th learning term was significant higher than that in 3rd learning term (χ2=36.06, P<0.01). Conclusions It is effective and feasible to develop international nursing personnel with China-America cooperation education model.
