Abstract
This article examines the vibrational-level populations for jet molecules subject to the following simplifying assumptions: the jet is one-dimensional; only diatomic molecules radiate; the concentration of radiating molecules is such that VV processes can be neglected, and reradiation is unimportant. A series of equations is presented.
