Abstract

Objective To investigate the effects of behavioral intervention basing on cross theoretical mode on cardiac rehabilitation and quality of life in patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). Methods 82 patients after PCI were selected from our hospital from June, 2013 to May, 2015 and were divided into a control group and a study group according to different intervention methods, 41 for each group. Routine nursing measures were adopted in the control group; in addition, the study group were given behavior intervention basing on cross theoretical mode. Before and after the intervention, the cardiac rehabilitation (ejection fraction, chest tightness) and quality of life [mental health (MH), emotional function (RE), social function (SF), physiological function (PF), physiological function (RP), vitality (VT), physical pain (BP), general health (GH)] were compared between these two groups. The medication compliance of these two groups were calculated. Results There were no statistical differences in the scores of ejection fraction, chest distress, PF, RP, BP, GH, VT, SF, MH, and RE between these two groups before the intervention (P> 0.05); after nursing care, the above indicators were better in the study group than in the control group, with statistical differences (P< 0.05). The medication compliance rate was 95.12% in the study group and was 73.17% in the control group, with a statistical difference (P< 0.05). Conclusion Behavioral intervention basing on cross theoretical mode for patients after PCI can can effectively improve their medication compliance, promote their cardiac rehabilitation, and improve their quality of life. Key words: Cross theoretical mode; Behavioral intervention; Percutaneous coronary intervention; Cardiac rehabilitation; Quality of life
