Abstract
Objectives To investigate the effects of atorvastatin on early diabetic nephropathy with normal lipidemia. Methods 60 patients with early diabetic nephropathy were randomly divided into control group and atorvastatin treatment group. Control group were treated with normal drugs. Atorvastatin treatment group were treated with normal drugs and atorvastatin. Urine microalbumin(MAU), urinarβ2-microgloblin(β2-MG), N-acetyl-beta-glucosaminidase(NAG), vascular endo thelial growth factor(VEGF), endothelin(ET) and thrombomodulin(TM) were determined before and after 12 weeks treatment in both groups. Results MAU, β2-MG, NAG, ET, VEGF and TM were decreased after treatment in two groups and significantly in atorvastatin treatment group. Conclusions Atorvastatin treatment ameliorate early damaged renal function in patients with diabetic nephropathy. Protective effect on endotheliocytes maybe play an important role in this therapy. Key words: Diabetic Nephropathies; Antilipemic Agents
